29. Vogue March 2008

Let me first say, I'm sorry for being so long winded with this post. I have extremely fond memories of all of the clothing in the spring 2008 collections- I saw them in Colette, Bon Marche, and Galleries Lafayette while I was studying abroad the summer of 2008. It was the first time I was in the presence of designer clothing. I was able to touch them and feel them and just meet them in person. I also believe that 2008 was kind of the last time that designers were really making clothes that were inspiring and fun and art-like. The economy has been rough on everyone. Designers, retailers, customers. Designers are having to design collections that customers won't buy. Hopefully we'll see a change in this attitude sometime soon. I've missed clothing with personality and life.

This Dolce & Gabbana is so fun. I remember visiting D&G while in Paris and everything was amazing.

This Prada collection was so beautiful with Asian illustrations. Check out those amazing shoes!

I hate to feature two for MK... but these are stunning. I love the small prints.

Chanel

This St. John frock is beautiful.

This dress by Alberta Ferretti is so timeless and history inspired. I want it.

You remember this Hermes campaign with the elephants wearing makeup? I'm surprised they weren't ranked over the coals like Banksy was.

Oh Tom Ford. You are so naughty.
Karen Elsen & Casey Affleck.

Balenciaga. OMG. Those boots.

Bill Blass. I would wear this dress everywhere.

28. Vogue October 2007

I guess I've ripped some things from this magazine at a different time... because this ad didn't have another page to go with it, so I'm really not sure whose it is! But I love the cat eye.

Although Balmain may not be a household name like Louis Vouitton or Balenciaga, it certainly produces great designs that are fun and exciting. Definitely not clothes that your grandma would wear.

Sorry, but I had to include this on the Darjeeling Limited. It's one of my favorite movies of all time. Adrian Brody is my celebrity crush.

So I remember this photo shoot well... and love it. Love Christian Lacroix.

Chanel Haute Couture. So beautiful.

I love wearing fur. It doesn't make me a bad person.

Ah Sean Penn. He is such a sweetheart.

These Manolos are absolutely beautiful.

27. Nylon July 2007

This Hugo Boss ad is so lazy and fantastic. This is how I feel every day.

I love this. If I were to have gone to private school, this would have been me.

The boys from Tokyo Police Club look so cute all bundled up. I really miss living in New York and being cold all the time. I haven't had a reason to wear a scarf or mittens since I moved back in January.
I don't know how to do anything with eye makeup. It's sad.

I am posting this with a little bit of sadness in my heart. Earlier this month Meg & Jack announced that they have broken up. It's not the biggest shock- since the band has been quiet lately and Jack has been extremely busy with side projects...

26. Vogue Magazine May 2010

This Zac Posen for Target ad is way fun.

Bottega Veneta always has the best ads. But rarely (with today's economy) do you see ads for their eyewear. It's so dreamy.

Loving these stripes... and that picture of Pablo Picasso.

Ah the Smithsonian First Lady inaugural gowns. If you are ever in D.C. go to the American History museum and see them all! It's a really neat was to look at the history of fashion and the way it has evolved our the past 200 years.

If I could do this to my hair, I would probably do it every day.

This makes me feel so cold.

25. Nylon Magazine July 2010

I wish I were on a beach somewhere today.

I am obsessed with these cutoffs.

This is the funnest spread. It makes me want to watch Amadeus so badly! (The film is on Netflix instant right now... so it may happen this afternoon...). Those little booty shorts are by Marc Jacobs and run a cool $995.

24. Vanity Fair August 2010

A shot of the desk of Matthew Weiner, the creator of Mad Men. Lots of fun stuff on there. My dad's desk is barely visible for all of the blueprints and papers all over it. Definitely not as fun as Pete & Trudy Campbell's chip-and-dip.

I wish I knew how to do anything like this with eye makeup. I have no clue.

LSD must be okay. Cary Grant did it.

Very smart little sketch of influences. Jonathan Swift to Taylor Swift.

23. Nylon Magazine November 2009

I love me some Nashville, Tennessee.

I love that Donna Karan jacket. So much fun... but I bet it's itchy.
Ugh this issue sucked. I had a hard time finding anything I really liked in it.

22. Nylon Magazine September 2010

This vest would be completely unrealistic to wear in Texas, but, I kind of like it... and I love these leggings too.

These Tommy Hilfiger boots are the kind of shoes I would wear once a year... but they are so fun to look at.

Nice juxtaposition. Soft and hard.

Love this... the author of "Shoplifting from American Apparel" was "arrested for trespassing at a NYU bookstore that carried his book"... a week after this interview.
Did you notice that Suno jacket on Jessica Szohr? I wrote about it last spring! Good eye, HD.
