5. Nylon Magazine April 2006

I love knitted/crocheted swimsuits and/or lingerie. They make me very happy and make me covet people who live in the south of France.

This picture was taken of some girls who live in a model's apartment in New York. The thing that I love in the photo is that one of the girls is wearing a sweater with a horse motif. Anyone who has ever been antiquing with me knows that I am a sucker for ANYTHING with horses or hunting dogs.

I wish I could wake up in the morning looking like this... or I guess if I could go to bed looking like this, that would be ideal as well.

Our cover girl, Lydia Hearst, is yes, the great-granddaughter of William Randolph Hurst (if you don't know who he is you should be ashamed.) She perfectly embodies a 1960s factory girl or barbie doll.

Diesel advertisements. I know I've featured them on here before. I either love them or hate them. This, I love.

Ezekiel. This brand keeps pretty quiet. Go to their website to check out their spring collections for men and women.

I forgot all about this print from LV. Although it is extremely annoying, it is a much better version of the touristy print you see in every major city in the world.

I could live in nice underwear. Like at a commune for people who appreciate pretty undies.

Oh this is the sweetest puppy ever.

Fun times.

Happy February, everybody.

3. Nylon Magazine September 2006

Insider view to clothing designer, Erin Fetherston's Parisian apartment. It's kind of like a super quirky and modern Versailles. I wonder if she would ever be interested in doing a house swap?

Fake eyelashes and furs=two of my favorite things. This model looks just like my favorite salesgirl at LF Soho... her name is Adriana... go in and tell her I sent you... she'll hook you up.

Photo shoot in Berlin. Yes please, I want to go to Germany!

As you can see... Nylon's "Biggest Issue Ever" was not so impressive to me. Gosh, 2006 is a way back in time. This is the month Augusten Burrough's "Running with Scissors" hit the big screen and Ben Kweller came out with an album by the same name (Sundress was one of my favorite songs for the rest of the year). Miss Avril has had a million changes in her life since this magazine was published. She was married to Sum 41's Deryck Whibley for three years. Divorced in 2009. Is now with Brody Jenner. One thing is consistent with her: teenage boys go crazy for Avril. My seventeen year-old brother is still head over heels for her "fuck you" attitude and lyrics.

2. Nylon Magazine December/January 2007

I love me some organized clutter.

This illustration by James Blagden makes me want to break out my neon running shorts and sweatbands. This was 2007... Nylon was way ahead of the times with the neon trend.

Grab the mic. Go wild. Repeat.

This little piece about French artist Christine Rebet sparked an interest in her other work...

I love anything by Van Cleef and Arpels, but this necklace is a little bit on the cool/funky side. I would love to wear it around my neck!

I love vintage underwear. I would love to put this on and wear it around.
This issue of Nylon featured Michelle Williams (before her break up with Heath Ledger and just a year before his death). It's almost heartbreaking to read the article knowing what sadness would occur in her life in the upcoming year. This issue also featured a wonderful travel piece on Budapest, a country high on my list to visit. Two down, two hundred to go.

1. Nylon Magazine February 2011

I've never met a husky that I didn't like.... I dream of dogs.

I am loving American Apparel's latest crop of ads out right now... The headline typeface, the little blurb about the model, and the absence of lewdness.

Model Emma Karlsson is all over this magazine. I counted her appearances... uno, dos, tres, quatro, cinco... cinco (that's five). Five times she appears in this month's issue! And I think she's absolutely adorable. I love her blond hair. (I've always wanted to be a blond!) I love how her roots need to be done... and I love her smoky eyes. Yay Emma.

This is from the "Pretty in Pink" spread photographed by Anouck Bertin. Model Camille Rowe looks a little like Anna Paquin's little sister... and I love the use of white walls to make the pink hues pop. It was very reminiscent of old school American Apparel ads. (But let's be honest, they'll probably be back...)

This photo makes me want to go to MAC right now to buy bright colored lipsticks.

I LOVE THESE SHORTS.

This month's issue of Nylon wasn't very impressive to me. I wasn't interested in much of the content... Although I love Cut/Copy and am definitely interested in the film 'The Woodmans'. I recently decided to end my subscription. I just can't get into it anymore! Maybe I'm just too old.

Never-Ending Project

Okay, so I know it's been not only one, or two... but about two and a half months since I've touched my dear GYDUN. No, we didn't get into a fight. No, I wasn't in a debilitating accident. And no, I wasn't stuck in Egypt without access to the internet. Truth is, I've been extremely busy and stressed out of my mind. Stress is the biggest hindrance to inspiration. I've just been a little stuck.

To sort of ease myself back into the swing of things... I've decided to take up a project! Hey-O. This is so fifth grade right now. But... I recently moved from New York back to Texas and am currently living with my parents. Nice, huh? I was cleaning out my closet the other day and it was brought to my attention that I have a ridiculous amount of magazines that I have collected throughout the years. It's a problem... a "Fire Hazard" if you will. I probably have at least 200 magazines floating around... maybe more? Who really knows. And who knows why I've been keeping them around for such a long time. What should I do with them?

At first someone suggested to me to just "throw them out". That made my heart hurt just a little bit. I don't think I can just go cold turkey. There's obviously a reason why I've been holding onto them for so long! So I've decided to revisit them... tear out the things that I love in each one, and share them here. Doesn't that sound great?

I'm pretty excited. Let's get started.

Strolling Through Cemeteries: Princeton, NJ

Since the beginning of November, I've been living with friends in Princeton, New Jersey. I'd never been there before stepping off the train from Penn Station. I guess I had this horrible picture in my head of New Jersey. I'm not sure why, but I was expecting a concrete jungle and clouds of pollution. What I've found, however, is that Princeton is a beautiful place that I have quickly begun to treasure. I have this little country road that I like to run on, and in the last few weeks I have spent a lot of time meeting the locals and exploring.

This sweet horsey let me give her kisses!

There's a cemetery on my route, and one afternoon I stopped in to see how old it was. It's a really small space, and it is filled with really old tombstones. Some of them are so old that they're completely illegible. I am kind of obsessed with the red tree picture.
