Fire Burning

As the state of California is ravaged by wildfires, I can't help but be affected by it. After living there all summer, I have a new appreciation for our West Coast, and I also have a love for the land. It's a beautiful place and I love it. Here are some pictures from the past week of both fires and the efforts of firemen in the state. These men and women have a very tough job ahead of them. I am so thankful for their efforts.

I love this picture. It just seems really hopeful. The sun will rise on a day where there are no more fires.

So Jackie Kennedy Onassis is gracing the cover of Vanity Fair's October issue... did you know that the magazine averages one Kennedy cover every two years? Why? To sell magazines. It's a crazy world. Buy a copy of it... save a dying industry please.

Adventures with Warren

I had a pretty terrible day yesterday, really it was so stressful and rainy and I just spent too much time alone and it all rolled together to put me in a melancholy mood. Around midnight, my friend Warren took me on a motorcycle ride and it was the perfect way to make my heart happy again.


I love the way this girl looks so cool and casual on the back of the bike. I wish I had a picture of what I looked like... my arms were completely wrapped around Warren's waist and I was kind of scrunched up against him... I was not as calm and collected as the girl in the picture. Now I want to go on another motorcycle ride and plan out the perfect outfit...

I saw one of Cindy Chao's brooches on the cover of WWD Monday and I was instantly smitten. These rings are little treasures.

She Wolf

Okay, so I've had a huge thing for Shakira since I saw her La Tortura video in high school. I marveled how she could move her body in ways I've never seen before and also how she could still look amazing covered in motor oil. Anyways, last night some friends and I played She Wolf over and over and over again while we cleaned out our garage, and I am pleased to say my friend Arturo does a wonderful Shakira impression.
